Whiteface Mountain SKI Center and gondola ride

Whiteface Mountain was the site of the 1980 

    Winter Olympic Games and was three times voted “top ski resort 

in the eastern United States” by readers of SKI Magazine

Whiteface Mountains stats include a 3,430-foot vertical drop

 and 75 trails for beginners, intermediate and expert skiers. 

The eight passenger gondola on the Mountain is used in 

    summertime to take visitors on a thrilling ride to the summit,

 where picnic tables and panoramic views of the Au Sable River 

and the Adirondack High Peaks awaits them


High Falls Gorge

a 700-foot waterfall located at the base of Whiteface Mountain,

with self-guided tours along groomed paths and walkways

Wilmington lies in the heart of the Adirondack 
Park Preserve, and is home to the popular Whiteface 
Mountain ski area. It is part of Essex County in the 
northeastern part of the state, and is situated between 
Lake Placid and Jay along Highway 86. 

The population of the village of Wilmington is just over 1,100 residents, 
    but due to its proximity to Whiteface Mountain and Lake Placid, it offers 
    visitors amenities and services you would expect in a much larger city.
